Speaker Biography
Dr. Lee received his BSEE degree from National
Chiao-Tung University in Taiwan, his MSEE degree from State
University of New York, and his PHD degree from Iowa State
University. Dr Lee joined Microsoft in 11-2004.He has near
30 years of professional experience, all in the ICT domain.
During the early stage of his career, he has worked for
Owens-Corning Fiberglas, and Exxon (later on became Exxon
Mobil). Later on he joined AT&T(later on became Lucent
Technologies) Bell Labs where he spent 18 years. His last
position at Lucent was Managing Director of Optical Fiber
Systems, Asia Pacific/China Region. Later on he became GM of
New Focus Inc.’s Shenzhen factory, and Director of Hong
Kong’s Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI),
leading its effort on fiber optical communication.
Dr. Lee is an expert on optical communications,
communication network management systems, and optical device
packaging and assembly.<back>
