Topic: “Broadband Deployments & Growth Evolution in Asia”
Speaker: Mr Erwin Ysewijn, VP Marketing, Access Business,
Communication Solutions Business Group, Infineon
Technologies
Abstract
The worldwide broadband demand is growing. According to
the reports from ABI Research, the number of broadband users
will grow by 9% annually from 2008 to 2012, reaching an
estimated total of 480 million by 2012, and the residential
VoIP market will reach more than 267 million households in
2012.
Facing such a fast-growing broadband market, a leading
service provider needs comprehensive and innovative
integrated broadband service platforms and system solutions
that can let them continuously provide better value to their
customers. Especially in a much diversified broadband market
like Asia, service providers need to address broadband
infrastructure and affordability issues more
cost-effectively to meet emerging triple play services such
as voice, video, data, VoIP, IPTV, video on demand and
interactive gaming.Accordingly, in the session I would like
to share the following next generation broadband trends and
solutions than can help service providers build flexible and
scalable infrastructures faster:
-
Broadband Deployments and Growth Evolution in Asia
-
Broadband-enabled services, including Router, IAD
(integrated access device) and Gateways
-
Solutions for next generation gateways with converged
broadband value added services to significantly reduce
system chip cost
-
Voice evolution - from PSTN, VoIP to Enhanced VoIP
-
Broadband CPE - DECT/CATiQ integration and user benefits
-
Life demonstration of Wideband Codec's.
